Terms of Service
The plain-language deal between you and Dunio. Last updated 14 August 2026.
Who we are
Dunio is operated by Clavicode (trading as Dunio), Den Haag, the Netherlands. Contact: hello@dunio.world. These terms are governed by Dutch law.
The service
Dunio provides physical cards that travel hand to hand, and the website that carries their stories: reading and writing chapters, following journeys, accounts, and the shop. You must be 16 or older to create an account or publish a chapter.
Your chapters
- You own what you write. By publishing you grant Dunio a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, translate and feature your chapter as part of the card's story - that is what publishing here means, and the button says so.
- Chapters are public and permanent by design; your deletion rights are described on the privacy page and always work.
- Don't publish anything unlawful, hateful, or someone else's private information; photograph the card and the world, not strangers. We may remove content that breaks this, and suspend accounts that abuse the service or its secret words.
Buying a card
- Prices are in euros. Payment is processed by Stripe.
- Refund any time before your card launches - this is broader than the statutory 14-day EU withdrawal right, which you also keep.
- Our guarantees: you will always receive your card (the memorial twin if it goes silent); if it never wakes we relaunch it with you, free.
- The journey itself is never promised. Cards travel through the goodwill of strangers; how far yours gets, how many chapters it gathers, and how long it takes are the world's decision, not ours - that uncertainty is the product.
Liability
The service is provided as-is. Beyond the guarantees above, our total liability for anything connected to a card or this site is limited to the amount you paid us. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law grants you and that cannot be limited.
Changes
If these terms change materially, account holders get an email before the change applies.
